I’m on day 5 of my new journey and I’m certainly not losing any steam! Over the past few years I’ve jumped on that exercise bike probably 6 or 8 times with the intention of using it every day for 30 minutes… and gave up after 2 days at most. Whilst I wanted to get fit and lose a little weight I really lacked enthusiasm and it just seemed a little too hard.
Since starting this journey, I’ve been on that bike for an hour each day… for the past 5 days. I’m enjoying it. By early evening I really WANT to get on there, get my legs pumping and listen to Jim Rohn. Whilst this review is about the Success Principle, I have to say that the Jim Rohn audios are an absolute gem and they’re perfect for listening to whilst working up a sweat! I actually searched around a lot as I’m on a fairly tight budget. This set of audios – the equivalent of 4 CDs are only $39. Here are a couple of quotes from Jim Rohn:
Formal education gets you a job. Self education gets you a fortune.
Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. If you work hard on your job you can make a living. If you work hard on yourself you can make a fortune.
Success is not something you pursue. Success is something you attract by becoming an attractive person.
Great stuff!
So I’ve been listening to the Success Principle audios and sticking to my 30 day mind fast. I’m honestly feeling much more enthusiastic than I have been in the past. One of the things I really like about the audios I’ve been listening to and the Success Principle course is that it’s not a motivational course. Motivational courses and presentations make you feel good for an hour or so and then you slip back to your bad habits and thoughts. The Success Principle seems to be more about giving the user the education required to be able to motivate yourself. That’s a very powerful distinction right there. If you need an upbeat person to motivate you then you’re not going to see very much personal development. On the other hand, if you can motivate yourself because you have finally realised that the limitations that you’ve had in the past have actually been self imposed, then the sky really is the limit. As Jim Rohn says – take 100% responsibility for the position you are in right now … and change it!
